Axios Aegis Fightwear was born from a deep love of faith, heritage, and the warrior spirit of combat sports. Across the globe, millions of Christians stand firm in their faith against severe persecution, displacement, and hostility. Axios Aegis Fightwear is here to honor that unyielding resilience and bring an unmistakable, dignified Christian presence to combat sports. We build gear that serves as a visual creed on the canvas. When you bow in, shake hands, or step into the cage, your fightwear becomes more than performance apparel – it is an anchor of faith, ancient tradition, and global solidarity. No matter who stands across from you, one truth remains certain: our faith will not be sidelined, hidden, or forgotten.
My name is Chris. I am a second-generation Greek-American, raised in the Greek Orthodox Church. My family came to Ellis Island by boat from Asia Minor, fleeing religious persecution. The same religious persecution and ethnic cleansing that is still happening in various parts of the world today. From a young age, faith and athletics have been at the center of my life. That journey eventually led me from traditional sports into the world of Jiu Jitsu, where the values of discipline, perseverance, and spiritual resilience are tested every single day on the mats. I married my wife, who is Palestinian born and raised in Jerusalem in the Arab Orthodox Church. Our shared Orthodox Christian faith became the foundation of our journey. Together, we are raising our two daughters in the Orthodox Church; teaching them the beauty of our ancient traditions while navigating the modern world.
Axios Aegis Fightwear represents the intersection of these worlds. We create premium No-Gi fight gear and lifestyle apparel inspired by Orthodox Christian symbolism, Byzantine heritage, and the spirit of the warrior athlete. Every cross, every ancient motif, and every detail is intentionally designed to remind the wearer that they are training with purpose.
In Orthodox Christianity, Theosis (θέωσις) is the lifelong journey of becoming more like God through grace, struggle, humility, and love. The same truth lives on the mats and inside the cage. Just as Theosis is not instant perfection but a slow, humbling, and glorious transformation- neither is the path to black belt or becoming a champion. You grow through thousands of rounds, daily ego deaths, and the quiet discipline of showing up again and again. The mat becomes your monastery. Every roll and every sparring session is an opportunity for metanoia — a change of mind. Every time you are submitted or knocked down and choose to learn instead of making excuses, you take one more step toward becoming the person you were meant to be.
